Welcome..

Hello Class and Professor,

I want to introduce myself in a more detailed manor than what we put on the discussion board. My name is Lauren and I am about to turn 30. I have a husband, a two year old son and an almost 6 year old step-daughter who lives in another state. We don't get to see her nearly as often as we would like :( So for the most part I just have one child. We are about to close on our first home together as a family, a small one that is near Ft. Leavenworth Army base and will end up being a rental property for military families.
I am on my own path to health and wellness. Its always been something I loved and have found interesting, but also something I have greatly struggled with. In the past I have struggled with an eating disorder and anxiety. The past year has also been the most stressful of my life and I'm looking forward to leaving 2013 behind and to 2014 being better and starting a whole new outlook on life. As part of my own health journey I decided to get a second bachelors degree in Health & Wellness. I knew I would learn a lot but also be able to spread a healthy message to others when I was done. I plan to then take it to a Master's Degree but not sure in what concentration area yet.
My own health & wellness journey has many parts and goals. I'm excited to learn from my classes and apply what I learn to my life. I'm going to include yoga, hot yoga when possible, for relaxation and meditation. Running and swimming for fitness and a raw food diet for health and weight loss. I'm going to try and focus more on the positive and wonderful things in my life, and focus less on stressors and thing I can't change. Spend more time with my family, and turn off the electronic devices. Spend more time outdoors, my family plans to start making sundays our day to walk at the local state park. I hope to change my whole outlook on life and become a more happy and well rounded person. I feel that this is not only good for me, but for my children as well. I will not only be setting a good example but be able to teach them how to live this way from an early age and hopefully instill good habits that will stay with them.

~Lauren
